NEW Fender American Precision Pro II Bass Miami Blue custom look - BARGAIN! This video explains the fuss dealers have been making about the new Pro II series. This video gives you a realistic look at the colour. KEY UPGRADED FEATURES OF THE PRO II SEREIS.
The new features of the Fender American pro II series that have got everybody talking and left stock so low, are as follows. The new specially balanced pickups contain differing amounts of Alnico in each pole. This is a new design-idea to give you get a better balanced sound across the strings. Put your ear goggles on (to quote Jimi) and check it out on the YouTube links above. The sound of this bass certainly competes with my made in 73 Precision (without the back-braking weight). The shops are saying this is best neck on a Fender USA production model ever in their pro-mo YouTubes. The rolled edges are lovely under your hands and the new combination of gloss lacquer on the fretboard (and head) but satin lacquer on the back certainly feels great and looks brilliant. The fatter modern C profile and bigger radius also give you a chunkier old-friend feel when you first pick it up.
Again more like an old fender or a new custom shop bass. However the nut width is narrower than a vintage the 60s or 70s fender precision, leaning more towards a jazz. Plus this bass has had a pro set up and the action is fast and low all the way along the neck past the 12th, without any buzz or rattle. The Miami blue is stunning.
Has 5% green in it apparently. Will become collectible no doubt. BRIDGE, FRETS & MACHINE HEADS.
Can be thru-body strung or strung through the back of the bridge like the vintage bridges pre 1995 if you dont count the very first bass in 1951 which was thru-body! CUSTOM SHOP FEATURES ON THE PRO II SERIES. A couple of the YouTube retailer videos comment that the new pro II series has a few custom shop features never before seen on USA factory production models. Tall-thin frets, seen only on custom shop and original 60s / 70s reissue.
Tapered machine head posts - so its easier to restring right to the bottom of the post, which affects playability on the first few frets on a bass. So, I imported this 2 weeks ago. Its never left the house and Ive played it less than 20 minutes. It still has the plastic on the machine heads and on the original pickguard included.
Ive done what I do with all my new fender basses: bought a black pick-guard and a chrome bridge cover (both are USA Fender parts - I have the receipts). When ordering these I came across a chrome coloured thumb rest which really adds something, from a eye-pleasing graphic-design point of view. The original mint-green pick-guard is in the case for you and in one of the pics. Its still in its plastic coating with the product sticker still on it when I took this pick guard off I read Fender made in Mexico on the back; oh Fender, how could you!! I blame Trump, you can now cheat and lie as much as you like in America.
The black one I put on has Fender made in the USA written on the back. Well Im tempted to keep it. But Ive just found the only Jazz Ultra in Cobra Blue left in Europe, in a small independent shop in Italy. I know from friends in the trade that the new stock from the California factory post USA lockdown whenever it eventually gets to the U. Theres so little left anywhere n Europe.I already have a vintage 73 precision and I cant own two blue guitars and two precisions. I dont like that sort of thing. Im a retired teacher and a socialist.
AVAILABILITY AND PRICE OF THIS MODEL As you probably know. Fender are 6 months behind schedule and nothing is currently coming out of California to the the Fender EU the distribution centres in France and Ireland; which are the ONLY wholesale outlets from which U. Shops are allowed get their USA Fender stock.
Furthermore when stock does start to flow, obviously we will be at the back of the queue here on Brexit Island with all that frictionless trade mountains of paper work. There are no Pro II basses in stock at the big EU shops (save one B stock in pearl at Bax in Holland;). Even the giant Thoman have nothing. One or two shops have one left in Pearl in the UK. The only ones left in Miami Blue are as follows (at the time of posting this ad).It will be carefully packed inside its fender top-of-the range hardcase has that wonderful brand new Fender smell when you open it up! That will be placed inside the fender box in which I imported it. Most couriers and EU border control folk havent yet realised that the Boris trade EU trade deal doesnt apply to anything originally made in the USA irrespective of age or export country, so in Europe you wont currently be charged any import duty but this will change by the autumn for new and used USA guitars.
About four days to Europe. More photos to follow - spec below. Thank you for reading my ad. Super-Natural Satin Urethane Finish on Back of Neck with Gloss Urethane Headstock Face.
